With Hartmann Schleifer from NautiTronix and Johannes Witte from we3, two practical representatives were guests at KIMV in December who are concretely tackling the topic of predictive maintenance - for inland vessels and for control cabinets. Prof. Kurt Sandkuhl provided background information and reported on developments to date.
Conclusion: An exciting topic for which there is still no standard solution. Therefore, one often works on individual solutions.
But predictive maintenance is worthwhile, because it means maintaining machines at the right time - neither too early nor too late.
