Marispace-X Project Presented in Kiel

Today, the Marispace-X project was presented at the state parliament in Schlesig-Holstein. Minister President Daniel Günther (SH), Science Minister Bettina Martin (MV),
the maritime coordinator of the federal government, Claudia Müller, the managing director of North.io, Jan Wendt, as well as Dr. Martin Endreß (Ionos) emphasized the importance of the program.
In the use cases of offshore wind power, munitions clearance and the replanting of seagrass meadows, the digital transformation is being driven forward in Germany, but also in Europe.

We at the University of Rostock are looking forward to collaborating with all partners involved.

Our research focus will be the design of digital business models.
This can be well illustrated with our "analog twin" of an ecosystem:

The basis of our research, but also of the planned applications for business, is data.
These can take various forms: From old imagery to new sensor data and satellite imagery, it can be anything.

The nutrients for our applications also vary: On the one hand, financial resources are needed, of course,
but so do technical expertise and the political will to get things done. The diverse consortium around Marispace-X shows that we are on the right track here.
we are on the right track.

Small and inconspicuous, but essential for pioneering work, is the moss in the analog twin. In the digital twin, there are
Start-ups that are breaking new ground.

In addition, of course, there are large companies that attract a lot of attention and make a valuable contribution to the maritime economy.

Our task here is to look at these snippets on a large scale, but also on a small scale, to develop new ideas and show how growth potential can be created and hurdles overcome.
To accomplish this, we will research, interview, prototype, and look for ways to model our digital ecosystem.

The project is embedded in the Gaia-X infrastructure, which holds other exciting use cases that we can also learn from.
