Abstract:
„Robotic Process Automation“ technology is gaining more and more attention in process automation due to the possibility of simple and cost-effective implementations. However, this technology is mainly used by large companies. For small and medium-sized enterprises, this technology remains so far largely unconsidered. The aim of this master thesis is the investigation of the possibility to use „Robotic Process Automation“ in small and medium-sized enterprises. This leads to the question how suitable this technology is for small and medium-sized enterprises, with the focus of the investigation on small enterprises. In order to achieve the aim of this master thesis, a structured literature analysis for „Robotic Process Automation“ in small and medium-sized enterprises as well as in enterprises without size limitation is carried out. Furthermore, an operationalisation of identified application scenarios and a comparison of „Robotic Process Automation“ providers will be performed. Criteria of small and medium-sized enterprises are taken into account. Practical application scenarios are created and practically implemented with a selected RPA platform. An evaluation of the practical relevance of the findings obtained in the master thesis is then conducted in the form of a guided interview with an expert.
