New Research Project in GAIA-X Context Approved!

Soon, the Chair of Information Systems will start a new research project together with 8 partners from industry and research, which will use the GAIA-X infrastructure. The funding decision of the Bundesnetzagentur arrived some days ago at Rostock University. The project is funded by the Bundesministeriums für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz (Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection). GAIA-X is a European project that is developing a European data infrastructure that will allow numerous decentralized platforms to share data collection and integration, all following the common GAIA-X standard.

The new project focuses specifically on maritime applications and is called MARISPACE-X, which is an acronym for "Smart MARItime Sensor Data SPACE X." The role of the Business Information Systems group is to develop platform-based business models and enterprise architectures for the use and exploitation of the data collected in the platform. In addition to the Chair of Business Information Systems, the Chair of Maritime Graphics from the University of Rostock is also involved in the project. More information about the project will follow soon on the project website.
