Abstract:
In the last few years, more and more apps have emerged that use mobile devices such as smartphones or smartwatches to provide support for healthy eating or training and nutrition. These apps differ not only in what they want to support the user with (usage scenarios), but also how they generate revenue. There are big differences in what needs to be recorded by the user (e.g. about daily meals or preferences), how this is done (manually or via sensors/camera) and how elaborate this is perceived by the user (user experience). The goal of this work is to classify existing apps in terms of usage scenarios and business models, and to identify potential improvements in user experience for selected apps.
