Laboratory Practical Course in Materials Engineering
Contribution of the Chair of Lightweight Design
The students of the Master's programs are to carry out essential methods of materials analysis under methods of materials analysis under supervision, and in doing so become familiar with the analytical methods and the materials to be analyzed. This includes in particular methods of chemical analysis, the investigation of material structures, the testing of material properties, and the characterization of heat treatability. Students should be able to select and carry out these methods and to select and carry out these methods and to evaluate the results.
The Chair of Lightweight Structures offers lightweight construction-specific experiments on anisotropic fiber-reinforced plastic composites as part of this laboratory practical.
Course Description
The chairs of Materials Engineering, Lightweight Design and Materials for Medical Technology each offer 1-3 experiments that must be successfully completed by the participants!
Responsible for the module: Chair of Materials Engineering
Recommended knowledge:
Knowledge corresponding to the modules "Materials Engineering 1: Fundamentals", "Materials Engineering 2: Advanced Fundamentals".
Teaching and learning methods:
Self-study, practical course
Credit points: 3
Pre-requisite examinations:
Colloquia (Several individual experiments are carried out in groups as part of the practical course. Pre-requisite for the examination is the passing of a colloquium for each individual experiment).
Type and scope of the examination:
Protocol (Several individual experiments are carried out in groups as part of the practical course. Examination performance for each individual experiment is the preparation of a sufficiently qualified protocol).
