Largely undisturbed river valley peatlands such as the Ferne Wiesen, located close to the town of Anklam, have become a rarity in Central Europe. The Eddy-Covariance station was installed in spring 2020 with funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The data represent a reference for near-natural fen sites.
