Welcome to the homepage of the Chair of Sustainable Urban Design and Mobility!

The professorship deals with the interrelationships between integrated urban development and the transformation of urban landscapes. The focus is on the design of people-friendly cities and neighborhoods that enable sustainable mobility.

In particular, the interactions between urban planning, urban development and mobility, as well as the adaptation of infrastructures to climate change, are researched and applied at the chair. This includes the development of process design and participation, approaches to reducing resource consumption in built cities and the use of digital tools in the smart city.

The professorship is one of four civil engineering professorships that were established as part of the implementation of the concept for cross-location engineering education in the fields of construction, landscape and environment (BLU concept).
